Tea chain Chai Sutta Bar has reached its 500-store milestone across India with a new outlet in the Malad suburb of Mumbai.
Founded in 2016, Chai Sutta Bar has a presence across 300 Indian cities. The tea chain serves its tea in kulhads, traditional clay cups which it claims enhances the flavour of the tea.
Using kulhads also supports local communities by providing sustainable employment opportunities to over 500 families in India’s potter trade, Chai Sutta Bar added.
“We are incredibly proud to mark the opening of our 500th outlet in Mumbai. This milestone represents the dedication and hard work of our entire team, and franchise partners, and the overwhelming love and support from our consumers. Chai Sutta Bar has always been more than just a tea chain. As we expand our reach, our vision remains steadfast — to provide a warm and inviting space where tea lovers can connect, unwind and savour delightful tea flavours,” said Anubhav Dubey, CEO, Chai Sutta Bar.
Dubey also unveiled plans to expand Chai Sutta Bar across the Middle East after opening its third store in Dubai in July 2023.
The tea chain, which opened its first outlet in the Emirati city in February 2020, will open three further UAE stores by the end of the year. Chai Sutta Bar will also open a regional office in Dubai to support its expansion into Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East.
The Madhya Pradesh-based tea chain also has plans to open outlets in the UK, Canada and the US, with a store set to open in Atlanta, Georgia, before the end of 2023.
